For the first time at MEO MARÉS VIVAS, TAKE THAT go onto the MEO stage on July 19 with the tour “The Life on Tour”.
After the news of their 9th studio album, “This Life”, the British pop royalty Take That have announced The Life On Tour – which will make a stop at MEO MARÉS VIVAS on July 19 on MEO Stage, and features Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen.
The original quintet, created in 1989, was immediately successful with their first two albums, reaching number two and number one, respectively. The third album, Nobody Else, proved their worldwide dominance, selling over 6 million copies and topping the charts in eleven countries. Robbie Williams’s departure brought about a split in 1996 and a nine-year-long hiatus, after which the four remaining members reunited for The Ultimate Tour in 2005. This return triggered one of the biggest accomplishments in the history of British pop: Take That released three number one albums in merely 4 years. Robbie’s return for “Progress” in 2011 make it become the best-selling album of the 21st century in the UK. Robbie Wiliam’s second departure, along with Jason Orange’s, left the three remaining members to release III and Wonderland in 2017, which won platinum and gold, respectively.
In 2018 Take That celebrated their 30th anniversary with the release of Odyssey, a greatest hits album with beautifully reinvented versions of some of their biggest tracks from a three-decade-long career. The album got to number 1 in the charts and was followed by a critically acclaimed tour at stadiums and arenas in the UK and Europe in 2019.
In September 2023 Take That released “Windows”, their first original single in 4 years, from their upcoming album This Life.
This performance will include their new songs, but their greatest hits won’t be left out – hits that have marked their career through decades, and that their Portuguese fans know so well.
